Google Rating Boost turns your best in-app reviews into public Google reviews. When a client rates you at or above your chosen threshold in Owneli's review flow, they get one follow-up email inviting them to say it again on Google — capped to once per client every six months so regulars aren't pestered.
Setting it up needs admin access: Settings → Google rating boost.
How do I set it up?
Get your Google review link(s)
From your Google Business Profile, copy the "ask for reviews" short link. For multiple locations, grab each location's own link.
Configure the add-on
In Settings → Google rating boost, paste a default review URL and, for multi-location workspaces, a per-location URL (the location's own link wins where set; the default covers the rest).
Pick the threshold
Choose the minimum in-app rating that triggers the invite — 3, 4 (the default), or 5 stars.
Enable it
Turn the add-on on. The status reads Active once enabled and at least one URL is configured; Needs setup means it's on but has nowhere to send people.
How it decides who gets asked
| Gate | Rule |
|---|---|
| Rating | The client's in-app rating is at or above your threshold |
| Contact | The client record has an email address |
| Frequency | No Google-review invite was sent to this client in the last 6 months |
| Destination | The location's review URL, or the default, exists |
If any gate fails, nothing is sent — quietly. Ratings below the threshold never trigger an ask, which is the point: unhappy feedback stays in your in-app reviews flow where you can respond privately.
Common questions
Why didn't a 5-star client get the email?
Check the gates in order: is the add-on Active with a URL for their location, do they have an email on file, and were they already invited within the last six months?
Does this post reviews to Google for the client?
No. It sends one email with your Google review link; the client writes (or doesn't write) the review themselves, in their own words.
Where do the in-app ratings come from?
From Owneli's post-visit review ask — see Reviews. Google Rating Boost is a follow-up layer on top of that flow, not a separate survey.
