Campaigns

Build an audience, choose a channel, schedule the send, add follow-ups — and stay on the right side of consent rules.

Growth → Campaigns

A campaign is a broadcast: design once, deliver by email and text, follow up with people who didn't engage, and see the revenue it produced.

The page has two tabs — Blasts (one-time sends) and Always-on (campaigns that run themselves).

Send a newsletter

Choose Start a campaign ? Send a newsletter for an email update to clients who have opted into marketing. Start with Monthly newsletter or Community update, then replace the sample copy with your news, useful advice, and booking links.

The template starts with your business accent colour, logo, and name. You can adjust the design before sending. Emails include your business identity, mailing address, an unsubscribe link, and a discreet Powered by Owneli footer.

Review the audience, send yourself a test, and choose Now or Scheduled. The newsletter recipe creates one email campaign with no automatic follow-ups. ?Monthly? describes the template; it does not automatically send every month. Create and review a new edition for each send.

Clients who withdraw email marketing consent or become blocked before delivery are excluded. If an email address changes after scheduling, that queued email is suppressed; review the audience before sending another edition.

Build a campaign

Start from a goal

New campaign asks what outcome you're after and sets up the audience, channel and follow-ups for you. Start from scratch if you'd rather build it yourself.

Choose your audience

Two modes. Standard offers ready-made segments. Custom lets you stack conditions:

  • Added in the last N days
  • Visited in the last N days
  • No visit in the last N days
  • Has tag
  • Visited location
  • Birthday month
  • At least N sales in a window
  • First visit upcoming
  • Has no-showed before
  • Has an active membership
  • Recently engaged a campaign

Then choose whether clients must match all conditions or any of them.

A useful audience can be saved as a named segment and loaded into future campaigns.

Check the reach

The audience panel shows how many reachable clients match, split by email (free) and text (costs credits). You can preview a sample of who's included.

The reach figure is who will actually receive it. Consent and deliverability are already filtered in — clients who never opted in, have no valid address, or have unsubscribed are not in that number.

Pick a channel

Email, SMS, both, WhatsApp, or push. SMS and WhatsApp share the same opt-in and the same messaging balance.

Write it

Start from a template or write from scratch. You can also A/B test the subject line: half the audience gets subject A, half gets subject B, and the winner sends to everyone else automatically after the test window.

Attach an offer

Optionally link a deal so it auto-applies when these clients book. Pick an existing active deal or create a new one.

Choose when to send

Now, or Scheduled for a date and time.

Or make it Always-on: it checks your clients daily and reaches each one the moment they qualify. Set a re-entry cooldown — 30, 60, 90, 180 days or a year — so the same person isn't re-enrolled endlessly.

Add follow-ups

Automatically re-send to recipients who didn't engage: those who haven't opened, haven't clicked, or haven't booked, after 1 to 7 days.

Anyone who books is excluded from follow-ups automatically. You will never chase someone for not responding to an offer they already took.

Statuses

StatusMeaning

Always-on campaigns are Draft, Active, or Paused, and show how many clients are enrolled and when they were last checked. Check now runs an evaluation immediately.

Marketing consent is separate from appointment notifications, and it is never granted implicitly. A client who agreed to appointment reminders has not agreed to marketing.Marketing email and SMS are regulated — CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, TCPA and their local equivalents all have things to say about consent, sender identity, and how easy it must be to unsubscribe. Requirements differ by jurisdiction and by channel, and they change. Confirm what applies to your business before you run marketing.

What Owneli does for you:

  • Filters non-consenting and unsubscribed clients out of every audience, before the count you see
  • Honours per-client opt-outs for email, SMS and birthday messages independently
  • Defers marketing sends outside your quiet-hours window (default 9:00–20:00 in your business's timezone)
  • Records who was sent what, and when

What remains yours: obtaining consent lawfully in the first place, your sender identity and physical address where required, and honouring an opt-out that arrives outside the app.

SMS costs

Text is charged per segment against your messaging balance. The audience panel shows the credit cost before you send, and a longer message that uses unicode characters costs more segments per message. Check Settings → Billing → Messaging wallet.

When an audience empties

If a campaign reports no matching clients, it usually means they have no valid email or phone, or have unsubscribed. Edit the audience and check the reach figure again.

Campaigns versus automations

A campaign is broadcast — you pick an audience and a time. An automation is triggered — it fires when something happens to one client.

Reporting

  • Growth → Reports → Attribution — revenue traced back to campaigns
  • Growth → Reports → Channel rollup — how each channel performs
  • Each campaign carries its own sent, opened, clicked and revenue figures
