Workspace defaults are the business-wide basics — currency, timezone, date and time formats, and a handful of behaviour switches. Admins set them at Settings → Workspace → Defaults, and they apply to everyone in the business.
What can I set in workspace defaults?
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Country & currency | The currency every price, sale, and report is denominated in |
| Timezone | The business default timezone |
| Date format | How dates render throughout the app |
| Time format | 12-hour or 24-hour clocks |
| First day of week | Which day calendars and week views start on |
| Form expiry | How many days a sent form link stays valid by default |
| PDF receipts | Whether receipts are attached to receipt emails as a PDF |
| Session timeout | Auto sign-out after a period of inactivity (0 = never) |
| Booking notifications | Whether admins are notified on new online bookings |

Timezone: the one setting with a follow-up question
The calendar reads each location's timezone, not this default. So when you change the default timezone here, Owneli offers to update your locations to match — accept it unless your locations genuinely sit in different zones.
Personal vs business settings
Your interface language is personal — every user picks their own under Work in your language. Everything on the Defaults tab is business-wide: your date format choice is what the whole team sees.
Common questions
Can different locations use different currencies?
No — currency is one per business. Locations can differ in timezone, hours, and policies, not currency.
Does changing the date format affect my data?
No. It's display formatting only; stored dates are unchanged.
What does session timeout do?
After the set minutes of inactivity, users are signed out and must sign in again — useful on shared front-desk devices. Zero disables it.
