Find a past sale and resend a receipt

Search sales history by date, status and client, reopen unpaid or draft sales, and resend a receipt by email, print it, or share its online link.

Updated Sep 1, 2026

Every sale lives in POS → Sales (the Cart history page) — filter by date, status and client, and click a row to open its receipt or reopen the cart. From a receipt you can Email receipt, Print, or start a refund.

How do I find a past sale?

Open History

POS → Sales defaults to the last 30 days of completed sales.

Filter

Set From / To dates, pick a StatusCompleted, Unpaid, Open, or Voided — and search with Find a client. Filters live in the address bar, so a filtered view is bookmarkable, and report cells deep-link straight into the transactions behind them.

Open the row

A settled sale opens its receipt. Anything still owing or still open reopens in the POS instead — that's how you resume a draft or collect an unpaid balance.

Each row shows the client (or "Walk-in"), date, cashier, status, and the total — with "owes" flagged on unpaid sales. Sales are also reachable from the client's profile.

Resend or print a receipt

On the receipt page:

ActionNotes
Email receiptSends to the client's email; shows No email on file when there isn't one — you can supply an address for a walk-in
PrintA clean print layout, ready for a counter printer
RefundOpens the refund panel, if you hold the refund permission — see Refunds and the cash drawer

The receipt email also carries a "view this receipt online" link — a private page showing the same receipt, so the client always has a copy without an account.

What a receipt shows

Business details and tax ID, date and reference, who served, each item with quantity and price, then the money block: Subtotal, Discount (with the reason), Tax broken out per rate, Card processing fee if one applied, Tip, Total — and, after any refund, Refunded and Net paid.

Every tender prints as its own payment row — Card, Cash (with Cash tendered and Change given), Gift card (with Gift card balance remaining), Package, Membership, Payment link, Card on file — so a split or redeemed sale reads exactly as it happened.

There's no separate refund receipt: a refund appears on the original receipt as Refunded / Net paid, keeping the whole story of the sale on one document.

Common questions

The client wants their receipt again — do I reprint or resend?

Either. Email receipt re-sends it; Print gives a paper copy. The online receipt link in the email keeps working too.

What does the Unpaid filter show?

Completed sales that still owe money — closed with Save as unpaid. Click through to reopen and Collect payment.

Can I edit a completed sale?

No — completed sales are final. Correct money with a refund; correct the record by refunding and re-ringing.

Who can see sales history?

Anyone with POS view access. Refunding from a row additionally requires the refund permission, and voided sales require the void permission to create.
