The first time you join a business as a team member, Owneli walks you through a short welcome. It takes about two minutes: a few details about you, an emergency contact, and any workplace policies you need to sign. Then you land on Today.
Before you start
You need to have accepted your invitation and signed in. See Accept an invitation to join a business.
Go through the welcome
Start
The first screen names the business you've joined. Select Get started.
Add your details
Under About you, enter your Full legal name. It's the only required field. Preferred name, Phone and Date of birth are optional. Select Continue.
Add a contact for emergencies
Under Contact + emergency, add your Home address and an Emergency contact. All of it is optional. Select Continue, or Skip for now to fill it in later.
Sign each policy
If the business has policies for you to sign, each one appears in turn. Scroll to the end of it first: until you do, I acknowledge stays off and you see Read to the end of the policy to acknowledge it. Then sign: choose Type name and type your full legal name, or Draw signature and sign with your finger or mouse. Select I acknowledge.
Finish
When you see You're ready to go, select Go to Today.
The Policies step only appears when something is waiting for you.
Check it worked
You're on Today with the sidebar showing. Your signed policies are listed under Operations → Policies, and your details are on My profile (open the account menu from your name or initials at the foot of the sidebar).
What you can skip
Your address, date of birth and emergency contact can wait. Skip for now takes you straight to the policies, and you can add the rest any time from My profile.
Policies can't be skipped. They're a legal sign-off, so you finish the welcome only after you've signed them.
If something goes wrong
I closed the page halfway through
Sign in again on the same device and the welcome picks up at the step you left. On a different device it starts from the beginning, but anything you already saved is kept.
A policy appeared over my screen after I'd finished
The business published a new policy, or a new version of one you signed. It opens over the page you're on and can't be closed until you sign it. Read it and sign it the same way, and you're back to work. Report pages are the exception: you can read them first and sign afterwards.
My name or phone is locked on My profile
After onboarding, your legal name and phone change by request to the owner. See Update your profile and personal details.
