Create your rooms and equipment as resources, link them to the services that need them, and the calendar reserves one per booking — refusing to put two appointments on the same machine at the same time. They live under Settings → Scheduling & booking → Resources (the page itself is /resources).
Who can do this: anyone with the appointments — manage capability — it's not tied to a role tier.
How do I create a room or a piece of equipment?
Add the resource
Click the add button and name it the way your team talks about it — "Room 2", "IPL laser", not an asset code.
Pick its kind
Room or equipment, plus an optional free-form type ("Laser", "Chair") — types become a filter once more than one exists.
Save it
The resource appears in the list, ready to be attached to services.
How do resources connect to bookings?
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| You link a service to a resource | Done once, in the service's settings |
| Someone books that service | A matching resource is reserved for the appointment's duration |
| The resource is already taken | The calendar shows it busy and won't double-book it |
When staff book manually, equipment already taken at that time shows as busy in the booking panel — see Book an appointment.
Reading the list
Each resource row shows how many services pin it — the direct answer to "what breaks if I retire this?". Filter by kind or type, or search by name.
Archiving a resource
Archive rather than delete: history stays intact, and the Show archived toggle brings it back into view.
Common questions
What's the difference between a room and equipment?
Only the category (and its filter). Both behave identically: reserved per booking, conflict-checked by the calendar.
Can one appointment reserve several resources?
A visit with multiple services reserves what each service needs — a room for the facial and the laser for the laser step.
Do resources belong to a location?
Resources are managed in one list for the business.
