Book a group or party

Book several guests into one visit, manage the party from one panel, check everyone out together, and cancel or no-show the whole group.

Updated Sep 1, 2026

A party is several appointments — one per guest, each with their own service, provider and time — grouped so you can manage, check out, and cancel them together. Start one with Add → Group appointment in the calendar toolbar, or Group appointment from the empty-slot menu.

How do I book a group?

Parties are built one guest at a time: book each guest normally, and attach the bookings to the group as you go.

Start the party

Choose Add → Group appointment (toolbar, or the phone's action button), or click an empty slot and pick Group appointment. A panel offers two paths: Create new appointment and Select existing appointment.

Book the first guest

With Create new appointment, pick an open slot — the normal booking panel opens. Book the guest as usual; on save, the appointment becomes the party's first member.

Add the rest

From the group panel, Add to group repeats the choice: book another new appointment, or Select existing appointment — the calendar shows "Click any appointment to add it — keep going to add more", and you click bookings on the grid until you press Done.

Review the party

The group panel lists every guest with their service, time, price and status, plus a Group total in the footer.

An appointment can belong to only one party — clicking one that's already grouped tells you so.

Managing the party

Open any member appointment and its Part of a party banner opens the group panel. From there:

ActionWhere
Open or remove one guestThe guest's Actions menu — Open appointment / Remove guest
Add more guestsAdd to group
Check everyone out on one bill⋮ → Checkout group — opens a single sale covering the party
Split the party back into solo bookings⋮ → Ungroup appointments
Cancel or no-show everyone⋮ → Cancel all / No-show all

Removing a guest cancels that guest's appointment (recorded as "Removed from party").

Cancelling or no-showing the whole party

Cancel all and No-show all open a confirmation with two decisions:

  • Charge the late-cancellation fee to each guest with a card on file (or the no-show fee) — off by default.
  • Let the client know — on by default for a cancellation, off for a no-show.
The notification rule is applied guest by guest: any guest whose card was charged is always emailed — the checkbox locks with "Always sent — they were charged, so we have to tell them." A guest's kept deposit is credited against their fee, so nobody is penalised twice. See Choose whether the client is notified.

Guests can manage the group themselves

Clients can book a party through your public booking site's group flow — adding guests, and paying one group deposit when your payment policy requires it. The organiser's link shows the roster and offers Cancel this group, which cancels every guest's appointment.

Common questions

Can each guest have a different service and provider?

Yes — every guest is a full appointment with its own service, provider and time. The party is the wrapper that moves and settles them together.

Can guests pay separately?

Yes. Checkout group raises one bill for everyone; for separate bills, open each guest's appointment and check it out individually.

Who can manage a party?

Anyone who can manage appointments. Staff whose access is limited to their own calendar can only act on parties booked entirely with them.

What happens to the group when I ungroup it?

Each appointment simply becomes a normal solo booking — nothing is cancelled or moved.
