Drag, resize, and rebook straight from the grid

Move an appointment by dragging, change its duration with the resize handle, undo a move, and rebook a client onto any open slot.

Updated Aug 14, 2026

The fastest edits happen on the grid itself: drag a block to move it, pull its bottom edge to change its duration, and use Rebook client to put someone's next visit on any open slot with their details carried along. Everything snaps to 15 minutes.

How do I move an appointment by dragging?

Drag the block

Drag it to a new time — or into another team member's column to change provider. Only scheduled and confirmed appointments can be dragged.

Read the confirmation

Nothing moves until you confirm. The New time dialog shows the new date and range, a green Slot is available (or an amber warning that the slot already has a booking), a What moves list when the visit has several services, and a Notify {name} about reschedule checkbox.

Update

Press Update. If the target is outside working hours, an extra checkbox — Schedule outside working hours — must be ticked first; that's how you deliberately place the 7am regular.

An Undo appears in the confirmation toast — one click puts the appointment back where it was, without notifying anyone. If the original slot has been taken in the meantime, the undo tells you.

Resize to change duration

Pull the handle at the bottom edge of a block to lengthen or shorten the visit. Resizes apply immediately — no dialog, no client notification, because the start time didn't move. If the new length runs past the provider's shift you're warned and can Resize anyway; if it would overlap the next booking, it's refused.

Rebook a client from a past visit

Rebook client in the appointment's menu is the "book their next one" shortcut:

Choose Rebook client

Open any of the client's appointments and pick ⋮ → Rebook client.

Pick a slot

The calendar switches to today's day view with a banner — "Pick a slot to rebook {name} — click any open time on any provider." Navigate to any date you like.

Confirm the booking

Clicking an open slot opens the booking panel prefilled with the client and service. The provider is whoever's column you clicked, so rebooking with someone new is just clicking their column.

Started a booking and clicked away? A drafted booking with real content asks before it's discarded — a stray click can't silently throw away the visit you were building.

Common questions

Why won't a block drag?

Completed, cancelled and no-show appointments are fixed. Blocks in a resource (room) column are read-only too — drag the block in the provider's column instead. Multi-provider visits drag per reassigned service line, not as a whole.

Does dragging charge or refund anything?

No. Moving an appointment never touches deposits or fees — those only come into play on cancellation or no-show. See Reschedule, cancel, and mark a no-show.

Is the client told when I resize?

No — only a change to the start time offers a notification. Duration-only changes are silent, though reminders re-arm automatically.

Can I drag an appointment onto a slot that's already booked?

Only if your business allows double-booking; the dialog warns you first. Otherwise the move is refused. See Double-booking and overlaps.
